Meet the Practitioner

Hi, I’m Meagan! I’m a Certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDNP) and Integrative Health Practitioner (IHP2) with a Master’s Degree in Health and Wellness Coaching and Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Psychology.

I work with clients who are ready to explore the underlying imbalances that are contributing to their chronic digestive, mood, energy and hormonal health symptoms. In a personalized 1:1 virtual program, available in 4 or 7-month options, we embark on a comprehensive journey to transform your health.

Together, we address your unique health concerns, history, goals, and limiting beliefs, supported by functional medicine lab screenings. We focus on every aspect of your well-being, from mindset, emotions, and stress management to nutrition, exercise, supplementation, and lifestyle adjustments. Our approach is rooted in scientifically proven methods, ensuring you build a solid foundation for lasting health and wellness, naturally.

I've been there, so I truly understand.

I made it, and you can too.

Mission Statement

As a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P) and Certified Integrative Health Practitioner, my mission is to help people learn how to get healthy and stay healthy naturally. This means empowering you to take responsibility for your own health, gifted with an understanding of how to sustain better health for a lifetime.  Throughout our work together, my role will be that of educator and coach as we investigate your lifestyle, mindset and lab screenings for H.I.D.D.E.N. (Hormone, Immune, Digestion, Detoxification, Energy Production and Nervous System) stressors that are contributing to your chronic symptoms.

Why a Holistic Approach?

I think we can all agree that our current healthcare system needs a makeover. In the United States, we spend the most per capita of first world countries on healthcare, yet we are the sickest.

I am sure that you, or someone you know, has gone to the doctor with xyz symptoms, and come home feeling not truly heard or seen. In fact, many people mention feeling rushed or dismissed. At an annual physical with my PCP, she mentioned that I was the first of TWENTY patients that day. That is not fair, sustainable or beneficial for either the practitioner or the patient. But unfortunately, the system has become controlled by profits over people.

Conventional medicine is ESSENTIAL for life-saving, acute-based emergency care AND it clearly does not have the appropriate answers for the chronic health crises we are facing today. Both are true, and it’s time we honor that. Something’s gotta give.

The Integrative Health approach helps people to understand that even the absence of disease does not equal health or secure a healthy future. As Integrative Health Practitioners (IHP’s), we believe that health care begins with proper access to information about your body and how it works.

We see clients as whole, creative and resourceful individuals. We help people get well, lose weight, and finally feel alive again. We do not suppress symptoms, but rather heal the whole person using a truly integrative approach to natural health. We provide protocols to restore deficiencies and remove toxicities so that your body can use it’s innate wisdom to heal. Integrative Health is here to help you take your power back.

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

 FAQ

  • Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® employs a science-based, holistic methodology to uncover the underlying causes of health issues. Imbalances within the body can result in symptoms like digestive problems, fatigue, and weight challenges. This approach fosters a therapeutic partnership between the client and practitioner, representing an advanced form of nutrition practice that meets the health demands of today's society.

Functional nutrition focuses on the entire individual rather than merely addressing a set of symptoms. It utilizes personalized lab tests, many of which can be collected at home, to identify potential healing opportunities within the hormone, immune, digestive, detoxification, and intestinal barrier systems. To restore bodily balance, Functional Nutrition incorporates a mix of therapeutic diets, sleep optimization, exercise guidance, stress management techniques, and supplementation plans.

  • Metabolic Chaos® is a state where HIDDEN stressors have caused malfunction, but the symptoms appear so far downstream that is is impossible to predict a root case. These chronic-stress related dysfunctions, dis-ease, or otherwise loss of function leaves the body in a weakened state of health and typically continued or worsened symptoms. Treating symptoms only leads to worsening of the underlying dis-ease state. Treating the paper only may help symptoms abate, but does not lead to true HEALTH in most cases.

  • Health & Wellness Coaching is a client-centered practice different from traditional Psychotherapy that looks at the WHOLE individual, empowering them to heal, learn, and move toward their goals with the support, expertise, accountability and partnership of their coach. The first session is an initial consultation known as the Discovery session, exploring where the client currently is, and where they want to be, an exploration of the client-coach relationship and much more. Meagan specializes in working with clients who are seeking to manage mood disorders, digestion, weight and/or energy issues. Get ready to move forward on your healing journey!

Health coaching does not ruminate on the past or the “story” the client has to tell. While it is important that their story is heard, a major principle of health coaching is to move the client positively forward to where they want to be.

Coaching is one of the most effective skills for human growth. It is different way of viewing people, a far more optimistic way than most of us are accustomed to, it results in a different way of treating them. It requires us to suspend limiting beliefs about people, including ourselves, abandon old habits & liberate ourselves from redundant ways of thinking.

  • Three to Six months is not a long time in respect to the rest of your life. This is part of the mindset. If it feels “too long” or “grueling” or “too much of a commitment”, I can already tell you that you’re in the wrong place.

No one is coming to save you. No doctor, no teacher, no coach, no therapist. It’s YOU and YOU, at the end of the day. This program requires that you step in to this role of radical self-responsibility in changing your lifestyle and mindset.

People commonly waste hundreds of dollars on random supplements that are advertised to them to cure “xyz”, and spend decades trying different random dogmatic diets in an attempt to figure out how to get well… just to end up even more lost than before.

This program cuts through the chaos, using modern science and ancient wisdom to build the foundations of optimal health for you, for a lifetime.

  • No refunds are offered and results are never guaranteed. This is an OPT-IN model of health care, which means that your progress and results are dependent on your ability to implement changes in how you think, act and live. No one can do this work FOR you, or guarantee your success other than yourself.

  • As an FDNP, I do not EVER diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Instead, we look at subclinical markers as part of the big picture of you, and make recommendations to coach up your body’s natural ability to heal and coach down contributors to metabolic chaos.

  • The short answer is probably not. The long (and, yes, frustrating) answer is - It depends on the kind of insurance you have, and we do not do any insurance billing for many reasons, nor do we make any guarantees whatsoever on reimbursement. Insurance needs a diagnosis from a doctor to match with a diagnostic code for billing, and as FDN’s, we do not diagnose or treat anything. Clients pay for FDN services like any other personal service or product and then hope to get reimbursed by their insurance company.

You will be provided, upon request, with a “superbill” which is a statement of the lab and consulting fees for your records. Some patients have successfully submitted these for reimbursement of out-of-pocket medical expenses, especially if submitting to a Health Savings Account (flex plan). In any case, our office fees and the lab fees are usually tax deductible if you itemize health care costs. Speak with your tax preparation person to be certain.

  • Out of respect to my time and yours, the quick application process helps me gauge where you are at and if you are prepared to walk the path of self-responsibility in your health. Once accepted, you will have the opportunity to book a free consultation or jump right in to the program of your choice (or join the waitlist for next enrollment).
